West Bay
About
The beach on the other side of the harbour, running west from the town towards the golf links. It is the more sheltered of the two, backed by grass and the Rotary Way path rather than a seafront terrace, and it has the town's beach huts, one of which now sits in the Coastal Communities Museum. From the west end you get the classic North Berwick postcard in reverse: the town along the shore with North Berwick Law rising directly behind it. It is quieter than the East Bay on a hot day and it is the natural starting point for a walk west along the coast towards Yellowcraig and Dirleton.

Tips
- →Better than the East Bay in an easterly wind, which is the wind this coast most often gets.
- →The golf links run right along the back of the beach at the western end; stay on the marked paths.
- →Yellowcraig, a bigger dune-backed beach with a view of Fidra, is about 4 km further west and is the obvious extension.
- →Free at all times, but the streets and car parks behind it are inside the controlled parking zone.

Milsey Bay
The East Bay: a long crescent of sand below the Victorian seafront, with the Bass Rock offshore. Locals say East Bay, the signs say Milsey.
North Berwick Harbour
A small working harbour between the two beaches, with the lifeboat station, the seafood shacks and the ruins of St Andrew's Old Kirk above it.
