The town's landmark hotel, a Victorian pile on Cromwell Road standing above the West Links with the Firth of Forth in front of it. It now trades as Marine North Berwick under the Marine and Lawn group, whose other properties sit beside links courses in St Andrews, Dornoch and Turnberry, so the golf orientation is deliberate. Two places to eat and drink inside: The Lawn, the main restaurant, and the Bass Rock Bar. It is the only full-service hotel of its size in the town and the natural choice if you want a lift, a bar and a concierge rather than a family house with three rooms.
