About

The South West Coast Path leaves Dartmouth Castle and heads south along the cliffs past Ladies Cove and round Blackstone Point, then turns west along the top of the cliffs to the National Trust land and car park at Little Dartmouth. It is the walk that shows why the castle is where it is: the river mouth is narrow, and from the point you can see straight out to sea and back across to Kingswear Castle. See the trail map for the route, measured from OpenStreetMap's path network. Combine it with the Castle Ferry one way to make a loop from the town.

Highlights

  • ✓Blackstone Point
  • ✓Views back to both castles
  • ✓National Trust cliff land at Little Dartmouth

Tips

  • →Wear proper shoes: the path is uneven with steps.
  • →The Castle Ferry back to town stops at the end of October.
