About
The old pannier market in the middle of town, built in 1828 according to Discover Dartmouth, when farm produce arrived in baskets on the backs of ponies. It is now a square of small shops, stalls and cafes round the listed market building. Market days are Tuesday, Friday and Thursday in high season, and Saturdays rotate: a table-top market on the first, the Emporium market on the third and an artisan market on the fourth. Local food stalls sit among everything from hardware to vinyl records.
