The waterside fish restaurant at 5 South Embankment, open since 2008 by its own account. The menu changes daily and follows what lands at Brixham market that morning, a few miles round the coast, and the fish goes over charcoal with not much else done to it; the cooking leans Italian, and the restaurant says it is twinned in spirit with Trattoria al Gatto Nero on Burano. Behind the main room is Joe's Bar, a late-licence cocktail bar you can walk into just for a drink, and there is a private dining room, the Cantina, with seasonal Italian menus from the chef, Ben. The restaurant does not publish its opening days on its own site, so check before you go; tables book online through the reservations page.
