River Avon Cruise from Pulteney Weir
← All things to do
About
An hour-long return cruise up the wooded Avon valley from the pontoon right below Pulteney Bridge, run by Pulteney Cruisers, the longest-established boat operator in the city. The route heads upstream towards Bathampton village past herons, canal boats and the backs of the Georgian terraces, with live commentary; note the boats can no longer stop at Bathampton itself following jetty safety concerns, so it is a round trip. No pre-booking for individuals: check the green board at the weir for the day's sailings (weather and river conditions apply), jump aboard and pay on the boat. In 2026 adults were £15, children five to fifteen £5, under-fives free, with an afternoon tea option bookable on top.
