Bath's best-loved institution after the Abbey: free two-hour walking tours of the city given by the Mayor of Bath's Corps of Honorary Guides, a tradition of volunteer guiding that has run for decades. Tours leave every day of the year except Christmas Day at 10:30, with a second 14:00 walk on most days (no afternoon walk on Saturdays), and cover the whole Georgian story: the Abbey quarter, the Circus, the Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge. The guides are genuinely proud that the walks are completely free; they do not accept tips.
