About
Boat trips out to the islands from the harbour, running roughly spring to autumn when the weather allows. The Rockabill tour runs about an hour and a quarter out to the lighthouse and the largest roseate tern colony in Europe; the Lambay trip runs about two hours. You get the history of the islands from the bronze age on, and the wildlife, from terns and seabirds to grey seals and the deer on Lambay. Sailings depend on the sea state, so an easterly can cancel; book ahead and confirm on the day.
