About

The sheltered cove north of the harbour, running about 1.2 km along the shore beside the fishing harbour. More protected than the South Strand and shallower at the edges, it is the family beach of the two, good for paddling and a calm-water swim. The harbour and the Red Island loop are right there, so it pairs well with chips from Stoop Your Head and a walk.

Highlights

  • Sheltered cove beside the fishing harbour
  • Calmer, shallower water for families
  • Steps from the harbour and the coastal loop
  • Good paddling and calm-day swimming

Tips

  • More sheltered than the South Strand
  • Right beside the harbour and Red Island walk
  • Check tide times for the best swimming
  • Toilets and parking at the harbour nearby
