About
A 37.7 kilometre loop road, the R341, that leaves the N59 near Ballinafad, passes Ballynahinch Castle, runs through Roundstone village, crosses the Connemara Bog Complex Special Area of Conservation, and continues through Ballyconneely before rejoining the N59 at Clifden. Locally known as the Bog Road, it is one of the most complete self-drive introductions to Connemara's bog interior available from a single village, and passes close to the Alcock and Brown transatlantic landing memorial and the site of Marconi's first transatlantic wireless station near Clifden.
