About
Malachy Kearns, known locally as Malachy Bodhran, has hand-crafted goatskin bodhrans on the edge of Roundstone since 1978, using hides only from goats aged three years or more for tone and strength. Every bodhran used in Riverdance over 25 years came from this workshop. The shop sits in the IDA craft village at the edge of the village and offers daily talks on bodhran making and history for pre-booked groups, alongside hand-painted instruments and custom family-crest designs.
