Accessibility
City
Limerick city centre is flat and compact, laid out on the Georgian grid, so it is easy to walk between the main sights along paved streets. Some Georgian buildings and older venues have steps at the door; check with the venue.
Castle
King John's Castle has a modern visitor centre with lift access to much of the exhibition, though the medieval towers and wall-walks involve stairs and uneven surfaces. Contact the castle about specific access needs.
Riverside
The quays and the Three Bridges Walk are largely flat and paved and make an accessible riverside route, though some older sections and steps down to the water are uneven.
For venue-level access, contact each place directly. The Georgian streets are level and walkable; the medieval towers and some historic interiors are the main obstacles.

O'Connell Street and the city centre
Limerick is a full city with plenty of bank branches and cash machines, concentrated along O'Connell Street and the surrounding centre, plus the Crescent Shopping Centre in Dooradoyle. Cash is easy to come by, unlike in the smaller towns of the region.

University Hospital Limerick (UHL), St Nessan's Road, Dooradoyle, Limerick, V94 F858. 24-hour Emergency Department, about 5 km south of the city centre. This is the only Emergency Department in the Mid-West, serving a catchment of more than 400,000 people, so it covers Limerick, Clare and north Tipperary.

UHL runs the region's only 24-hour A&E; the other Mid-West hospitals do not have emergency departments. The ED is often busy and in the news for overcrowding, but it is the place to go for an emergency. For life-threatening emergencies dial 112 or 999. Switchboard 061 301 111.

Luggage Storage
There is no dedicated left-luggage office at Colbert Station. Most city-centre hotels will hold bags for guests on arrival or after check-out; ask at reception.

Limerick has on-street pay-and-display parking across the centre and multi-storey car parks including Arthur's Quay, the Milk Market and Colbert Station areas. On-street bays use the city's pay-by-app and meter system. Match days at Thomond Park make parking near the ground very tight, so use the park-and-walk approach and allow extra time.

Limerick city centre
There are full supermarkets in and around the centre, including at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Dooradoyle, plus convenience stores across the city. For fresh food and local produce the Milk Market trades Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday the flagship food day.

City taxi ranks and operators
Limerick has taxi ranks in the city centre, including on Thomas Street and near the bus and rail station at Colbert, and several local taxi firms and app-based options. Ranks and cars are busiest on match days and festival weekends, so book ahead at peak times.

Free WiFi is widely available in the city's cafes, hotels, the Milk Market and many public buildings. Mobile coverage across the city is good on all networks.
SIM Cards
Three, Vodafone and Eir all have stores in the city centre and at the Crescent Shopping Centre, and prepaid tourist SIMs with data are easy to pick up. Expect around €20 for a starter SIM with a data bundle.
