About
The flat, largely traffic-free roads and paths of the national park make cycling the best way to cover the ground between the town, Ross Castle, Muckross and Dinis Cottage. Bikes hire by the day from several shops in town, and the loop out through Muckross and back along the lake is a comfortable half-day that takes in the abbey, the house and the lakeshore without ever sharing space with cars for long. It is free to ride; you only pay for the bike.
