Family-run Italian on Main Street in Ballina, Co. Tipperary, a couple of minutes up from the bridge, and the sister of the Tuscany Bistro in Castletroy. The menu runs from antipasti, pasta and pizza to chicken and beef fillet, and there are gluten-free pasta and pizza. Mind the opening pattern, which is the thing that catches visitors out: the bistro's own site lists Ballina as closed Monday to Thursday, open Friday 5pm to 9pm, Saturday 2pm to 9pm and Sunday 2pm to 8pm.
