McCambridge's has been a Shop Street fixture since 1925, family-run and now into its third generation. Downstairs is a fine-food shop and deli with an award-winning off-licence; upstairs is a casual restaurant looking out over the pedestrian bustle of Shop Street. The made-to-order sandwiches are something of a local rite, and the upstairs brunch and lunch are reliably good. Open Monday to Saturday, roughly eight to six, and closed on Sundays.
