Kilcullen's Seaweed Baths

← All things to do

About

The village's defining experience and one of the most distinctive things you can do in Ireland. Kilcullen's Bath House on the Pier Road opened in 1912 and has been run by the same family ever since, now into the fifth generation. You soak in an original Edwardian glazed porcelain bath filled with hot seawater pumped straight from the Atlantic, with locally harvested bladderwrack seaweed added so the natural oils turn the water amber and silky. The fuller treatment pairs the bath with a private steam cabinet, and massage therapy is available by appointment. Towels are supplied and booking is required.
