The Presentation Arts Centre is the old Presentation Convent chapel on Convent Road, a short walk up from Market Square, turned into a venue for gigs, plays, exhibitions and classes. The Presentation sisters founded their convent and school here in 1826; when the convent came down, the chapel was kept, with its stained glass, timber ceiling and arches, and the old garden beside it is now the Orchard Peace Park. It seats about 140, a hundred on the floor and forty in the balcony. The foyer gallery runs free exhibitions, and the evening programme is worth checking before a visit: Blackstairs Mountain Theatre brings a new play, Sky Road, from 2 to 5 December 2026.
