About
The walk that ties the town together. Start at the castle, drop down Castle Hill to Abbey Square, cross the Slaney on the Seamus Rafter Bridge and climb out of Templeshannon by Spring Valley and The Shannon, then take the lane round to the Vinegar Hill car park and the paved path to the windmill. Measured on the mapped route it is about 2.3 kilometres each way, on town streets and roads, with a steady climb on the second half. Come back the same way, or down to the old bridge for a coffee on Slaney Place.
