A thatched cottage on the Ashford Castle estate drive, close enough to the village that you can walk to it in about ten minutes from the abbey, and the easiest of the estate's dining rooms for a non-resident to get into. Ashford Castle states that it welcomes non-residents for dining subject to availability, and booking is by phone to the hotel rather than online. It is relaxed rather than formal: the castle's dress-coded rooms are a separate proposition. Cullen's sits on the County Mayo side of the estate, unlike the castle itself.
