About
The walled gardens behind the Cashel Palace Hotel run up towards the Rock and hold mulberry trees said to date from 1702, planted to mark Queen Anne's coronation, and the hop plants from which Richard Guinness, father of Arthur, is reputed to have brewed. A private path from the garden leads up to the Rock. The grounds are part of the hotel; non-residents are welcome to walk them with a drink or a meal, and the view of the Rock from the lawn is one of the best in the town.
