Garrett Mallon is a traditionally trained goldsmith who has been making jewellery by hand for over thirty years, and his design house on Newry Street is the one shop in Carlingford where something is genuinely being made rather than bought in and resold. The workshop is open to view, so you can watch the work happening at the bench, and the gallery also carries pieces by other Irish designer-makers, which makes it a reliable place to find handmade Irish craft rather than souvenir stock. Open Monday to Saturday from 10am and from midday on Sunday.
