A 90 minute guided walk through the darker history of the town: plague, murder, ghosts, torture, grave-robbing and witches, with Shakespeare's life and death threaded through it. It is a circular route on the historical spine of the town with about 20 minutes of actual walking, ends where it starts, is wheelchair and dog friendly (with some cobbles and a boardwalk), and does not go inside any attractions. It starts at the top of Sheep Street by the phone box on the corner of High Street, opposite the Town Hall. Public tours normally run at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm most days, subject to demand; the operator asks you to contact it first to confirm a tour is running.
