Keswick Launch on Derwentwater
← All things to do
About
The wooden launches leave the boat landings at the bottom of Lake Road and go round Derwentwater both ways, clockwise and anticlockwise, calling at seven jetties: Keswick, Ashness Gate, Lodore, High Brandelhow, Low Brandelhow, Hawes End and Nichol End. A round trip takes about 50 minutes, and the ticket works as a day pass: get off at any jetty and catch a later boat back. Hawes End is the jetty for the main walk up Catbells, Lodore for the falls, Ashness Gate for Ashness Bridge and Watendlath. The ticket office is by the lake at the boat landings. In winter the boats sail only on listed dates and the company says weather can stop sailings, so check its service notice on the day.
