The daytime cafe on Broad Street just below the Clock Tower, family-run since 1979 by its own account, in a Grade II listed former wool store that the cafe says appears on the 1847 tithe map. It does breakfast, brunch and lunch: a full Welsh breakfast, Black Mountains smoked salmon with poached eggs, local mountain lamb cawl at lunch, and cakes and pies all day, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. It is open every day from 9am to 3pm and you just walk in; only the occasional supper club needs booking.
