Bristol's historic covered market in the Old City, trading since 1743 and now home to the city's largest collection of independent traders under one roof: food stalls, street food, vintage clothes, jewellery, records and crafts across several linked arcades. A monthly street food market runs on the first Friday, and a separate Bristol Indies market of local makers trades alongside the main lanes. It is a genuine working market rather than a curated tourist version, still busiest at lunchtime with office workers and locals as much as visitors.
