About
Bristol's one Michelin-starred restaurant, on Cotham Road South in Kingsdown, a short walk uphill from the centre. Chef-proprietor George Livesey, who trained under Albert Roux and worked at St John and Club Gascon in London, cooks classic Anglo-French technique with Japanese and Scandinavian touches, built around seasonal British and foraged ingredients. Bulrush is the last restaurant standing from a small group of Bristol restaurants that once also included Casamia, Paco Tapas and Wilks, all of which have since closed, which makes it the city's sole current Michelin star. The room is small and the tasting menu format needs planning around; check current opening days before travelling, since service runs on a reduced weekly pattern.
