About

A bird park on Rissington Road, beside the Rissington Road car park, first established in 1957 and set, by its own account, on nine acres of a former Bryant and May poplar plantation along the Windrush. It says it keeps over 500 birds, with flamingos, pelicans, penguins, cranes and storks on the water and over 50 aviaries of parrots, falcons, hornbills and others. Birdland says it is home to England's only group of king penguins, kept with Humboldt penguins at Penguin Shore, and the penguins are fed at 11am and, for the main display with a keeper's talk, at 3pm daily. There is also a dinosaur trail, a play area and a cafe. Dogs on leads are welcome throughout.
