About
The walk from the middle of the village up into the Gwydir Forest Park to Llyn Elsi, the lake above Betws with its small wooded islands. Natural Resources Wales starts its Llyn Elsi Walk on the forest road behind St Mary's Church and grades it strenuous: 6.2 kilometres, 318 metres of climbing, two to three hours, on forest roads and narrow, uneven paths with benches on the steep ascent and round the lake. NRW's other village trails start from the Pont y Pair car park. The squat stone monument on the knoll above the lake marks the opening of the village water works.
