About
Two Blue Flag beaches west of Westport on the Louisburgh road. Old Head, about 16km out, is a sheltered sandy beach backed by woodland with rock pools and Croagh Patrick views. Bertra, about 12km out, is a long sandy spit near the foot of the Reek, good for walking, birdwatching and watersports, with a summer lifeguard and toilets.
