About

A small local-history museum on Westport Quay, in a 19th-century stone building, founded by the Westport Historical Society in 1987. Its displays cover Croagh Patrick, Grace O'Malley, Major John MacBride and Maud Gonne, the 1798 rebellion, the Famine and the War of Independence, and it runs guided historical walks of the town.
