About

A 7.8km looped walk starting from Bridgefield Car Park, heading along the Dublin Road and down to the Back Estuary. Quieter than the coastal path and excellent for birdwatching: the estuary is a Special Protection Area home to Brent geese in winter and a variety of wading birds year-round. The loop returns via Seabury and the Swords Road.

Highlights

  • Brent geese (winter)
  • Wading birds
  • Peaceful estuary scenery

Tips

  • Bring binoculars for birdwatching
  • Best at low tide when wading birds feed on the mudflats
  • The path can be muddy after rain
