The Dock
About
The Dock is Leitrim's flagship arts centre and it lives in the old county courthouse on St George's Terrace, a classical building by William Farrell that went up in the early nineteenth century and was restored by Leitrim County Council and reopened as an arts centre in 2005. Inside there are three galleries, a performance space, artists' studios, the Jury Room cafe and the Leitrim Design House craft shop. The programme runs to dance, music, theatre and visual art, with a workshop and schools strand alongside it, and the galleries are free to walk into. For a town of under five thousand people, having a working arts centre of this size in the building where the county's assizes were held is the most surprising thing about Carrick.

- →Gallery hours are shorter than the building's: Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm
- →Closed on bank holidays, which catches people out on a long weekend
- →Book performances through their own site rather than turning up
