About
The cycleway is the link that makes Boyle and Lough Key one day out rather than two. It is 7.9 km from King House to the Lough Key visitor centre, for walkers and cyclists, and it goes by the Pleasure Grounds, the Boyle river, the harbour and the Boyle Canal, then through Kilbryan, Knockanapple and Derreendarragh woods to the lake. Roscommon County Council grades it easy to moderate. Dogs are allowed on a lead, and parts of it are wheelchair and buggy friendly. It costs nothing, and arriving at Lough Key on foot or by bike saves the car-park charge. Full route notes are in the trail.
