About
Achill's highest mountain at 688 metres, with sea cliffs on its northern face ranking among the highest in Europe, behind only Hornelen in Norway and Cape Enniberg in the Faroe Islands. The climb from Keem Bay up over Croaghaun and along the ridge toward Achill Head is a serious, exposed mountain walk, not a casual stroll, and the weather on the ridge can differ sharply from conditions at sea level.

Tips
- →Not for beginners: exposed ridge, no marked path in places, and cloud can close in fast.
- →Check a mountain-specific forecast, not just the village forecast, before setting out.
- →Tell someone your route and expected return time.
