About

The way to see what the Wye does once it leaves town. Wye Valley Canoes, based at Glasbury, meets you at the Wyeford car park in Hay, gives you a paddle and safety briefing, and sends you five miles downstream into England, past Clifford Castle, to the Boat Inn at Whitney-on-Wye, then drives you back. The company puts it at two to three hours. Everything is included in the £40 a head: boat, buoyancy aid, paddle, waterproof barrel, dry bag and the return transport. The same company runs a half-day from its own launch at Glasbury that finishes in Hay, if you would rather paddle into town than out of it.
