About
A secondhand bookshop in Alnwick's old railway station, which closed in 1968 and which the shop describes as one of the largest secondhand bookshops in Britain. Open fires burn in winter, a model railway runs along the tops of the book columns in the central room, there are three 40-foot murals, a children's room and a room of glass cases for antiquarian books. It is also, by its own account, the home of the original Keep Calm and Carry On poster, the 1939 HMSO design. Bring books to trade if you like, up to ten hardbacks or twenty paperbacks a visit. The Station Buffet is inside.
