About
The Heritage Centre's guides run a weekday programme of walks, each leaving from the centre. The town tour, about 1km, goes at 2pm Monday to Friday and covers the monastic town, the Normans, the castle's residents and the cathedral. Lady Louisa's Walk, a 3km loop by the river, goes at 11am on Mondays. A 5.5km loop to the outline of the Norman motte and bailey at an old fording place goes at 11am on Wednesdays and Fridays, and a 7km section of St Declan's Way, with a short steep climb for the view over the Blackwater valley, goes at 11am on Tuesdays. Children under 16 go free on all but the Declan's Way walk.
