About
Maróg and Sally O'Brien's restaurant in the old O'Brien's pub on Main Street, with the pub's sign still on the front. The family ran Farmgate in Midleton from 1983 until flood damage from Storm Babet closed it, and they reopened here in the summer of 2024. The bar layout survives inside, with counter seats and a small garden at the back. It holds a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand for 2026. It opens four days a week only: dinner from 5pm Thursday to Saturday, lunch on Friday and Saturday, and one menu from 1pm on Sunday. Tables are booked by email only, through the contact form on its own site, and replies go out Wednesday to Sunday, so do not leave it to the morning you want to eat.
