About

Kilkenny's contemporary art museum moved in 2020 into the restored Evans' Home, an 18th-century almshouse on John's Quay, after decades inside the castle itself. The programme is changing exhibitions of Irish and international contemporary art, alongside a permanent collection centred on the painter Tony O'Malley, who was born in nearby Callan. There is a café on site, and entry is free, which makes it an easy stop on a wet afternoon.
