About
Carne Golf Links, home of Belmullet Golf Club, is one of the great links courses of the Wild Atlantic coast and one of the last designed by the legendary Eddie Hackett. The complex now runs to 27 holes: Hackett's original 18, known as the Hackett Links, plus a newer nine, the Wild Atlantic Dunes, laid out by Jim Engh and Ally McIntosh through enormous natural dunes. The course tumbles through sandhills up to 150m above sea level with views across Blacksod Bay to the offshore islands. Golfers travel a long way to play it, and most agree the journey is worth it.
