About

O'Donoghue's have been baking bread for the people of Erris from Main Street in Belmullet since 1932, three generations of the one family. The bakery, which also trades as An Builín Blasta (the tasty loaf), is run by siblings Eva, Dawn and David O'Donoghue with Noel Reilly, having passed down from their father John. In a town this remote, a working bakery of that age is a genuine institution: the everyday breads, scones and cakes that supply the shops and homes of the Mullet come out of this one Main Street oven.
